Join a Team

Many of the ChallENG projects earn academic credit (for-credit-elective) or may be eligible for Industrial Training.

Learn how to 'Apply' or 'Enrol' to your chosen ChallENG Project

    1. Select a VIP - explore the full list of projects
    2. Fill out the 'Apply Now' form  you will need to login with your ZID@ad.unsw.edu.au email
    3. After applying, students will be invited by the VIP Projects lead academic to meet and discuss joining the team. This is an opportunity for students to ask questions about the project and how the team will function
    4. Students will then receive written confirmation if they have been accepted into the team
    5. If you have been accepted into a VIP team, Student Services will be notified and you will automatically be enrolled into the relevant elective course that relates to your year of study
    6. In November 2019, when the selected VIP team is formed an info session will be organised. This will be an opportunity for students to meet their team-mates and receive more information about the VIP Program that starts in Term 1 2020

    1. Enrol in The Maker Games ENGG3060
    2. In week 5 of Term 1 2020, The Maker Games projects will be released. You'll be invited to sign-up to your preferred project. Each team has a maximum of six students per project, so get in fast to make sure you secure a place on your chosen project (it’s first in first served). If your preferred team is unavailable, you can join a waiting list
    3. You are then ready to start The Maker Games in Term 2!

    Student Projects for Course Credit

    1. First APPLY to join your selected Student Project - you will need to login with your ZID@ad.unsw.edu.au email
    2. After applying you will be invited to meet and discuss joining the team. This is your opportunity to ask questions about the project and see how the team works
    3. If you are successful, you will receive written confirmation that you have been accepted into the team
    4. If you have been accepted into a Student Project that offers course credit (this applies to Sunswift or Off-World Robotics), Student Services will be notified that you have been accepted into a Student Project team and will automatically enrol you into the relevant elective course that relates to your year of study

    Student Projects for Industrial Training 

    • First APPLY to join your selected Student Project - you will need to login with your ZID@ad.unsw.edu.au email

    For all other Student Projects, you may be eligible for Industrial Training credit. You need to belong to a team for two terms and meet certain criteria signed-off by your academic supervisor. If you meet the criteria, enrol in Industrial Training
