VIP ChallENG research goals

Exploring the anatomy of cyber-attacks, we are collecting data on the various types of attack patterns. Analysing this data to identify the key attributes, we are developing machines that are trained to detect multiple types of cyber-attacks. Upon detection, we are developing methods to deflect or block such attacks.

The research includes:

  • Understanding the anatomy and principles of cyber-attacks
  • Developing models of network traffic behaviour
  • Extracting network traffic attributes at high rates
  • Data-driven machine learning model development for traffic anomaly detection
  • Techniques to redirect or block cyber-attacks
  • Visualisation and inferencing of traffic patterns
