About ChallENG Student Project

Immerse yourself into a ‘hands-on’ social impact project where you will apply innovative technologies to develop a cutting-edge power-assist system.

Attachable onto existing manual wheelchairs, this “state-of-the-art” system will feature a motorised boost with increased environmental awareness. Thereby, increasing user safety, independence and manoeuvrability.

By collaborating on this project, you will expand your knowledge and grow into a more diverse individual.

  • Both Undergraduate and Postgraduate Students are welcome
  • Students must be passionate and have a strong initiative to make an impact within the community
  • Engineering students from all disciplines with relevant technical knowledge or are enthusiastic to upskill are encouraged to join
  • Law, Medicine, Commerce and Industrial Design students who have an interest in biomedical devices are also welcome
  • Make an immediate and tangible impact on communities which need it the most 
  • Opportunity to work alongside other like-minded engineering students and gain practical hands-on experience with innovative technologies
