About The Maker Games

The Maker Games is an exciting prototyping competition and course open exclusively to UNSW students. Students work together in teams to create an innovative solution to industry-led challenges and build a working prototype of their idea.

Stage One

  1. Enrol in ENGG3060 
  2. Select a project. Project briefs will become available here in week 5 of Term 1 2020. You'll be emailed information on how to join a project - it's first come, first served, so put this date in your calendar! If your preferred project becomes unavailable, join the waiting list or another project team.
  3. Next, you'll form a team. Students are required to form cross-disciplinary teams of 4-6 people who have completed 66 UOC by Term 2, 2019. The link to the Team formation will become available here in week 5 of Term 1, 2020.

Stage Two

  • Starts at the beginning of Term 2 and carries through to Term 3
  • Next you'll design and build your prototype (The Maker Games ENGG3060)
  • You'll attend bespoke events, exclusive mentoring sessions with industry representatives and academic staff, and more!
  • To participate in The Maker Games you need to have completed 66 units of credit
  • Before selecting a project you need to enrol in ENGG3060
  • Postgraduate students can participate if they have completed a minimum of 18 credit points
  • You can only participate in the Maker Games once throughout your degree
