You can complete a Non-Traditional Industrial Training placement by working on a pre-authorised Humanitarian Engineering project in The ChallENG Program like the Engineering World Health Summer Institute or working directly with an external host organisation.
Get involved in Humanitarian Engineering while completing up to 30 days of your Industrial Training degree requirement.

Planning your Humanitarian Engineering placement
Minimum duration for a Non-Traditional placement is 5 days
A maximum duration of 30 days can count towards your Industrial Training requirement
Students can take part in a maximum of 2 Non-Traditional placements
You can explore all of the Humanitarian Engineering placement opportunities that are pre-authorised by Engineering for Non-Traditional Industrial Training on Moodle. If there is a project that you would like to participate in and it is currently not offered on the list, please apply to the Engineering Industrial Training team via eng.wil@unsw.edu.au for the placement to be assessed.
